Program Goals

Overall Goals

When setting goals in our program we will look to use the SMART method. Goals should always be aligned with the overall district goals. It starts there and will trickle down to the school, then athletic department, teams, coaches, and players. Not only is important to have goals it is important to teach our goals to our players and staff. Using this method will allow us to have detailed goals and plans to achieve them.

  • S – Specific

  • M – Measuarble

  • A – Attainable

  • R – Realistic

  • T – Time

Goals for the overall athletic department.

  1. Build a relationship with your athletes.

    • Players must be able to trust their coaches and you build that trust with a relationship.

    • Get to know your athletes outside of the sport.

  2. Influence your team and/or group in a positive way.

    • Coaches have great influence over their team or group and we must be modeling positive influence with our actions.

  3. Develop a hard work ethic

    • We live in a society that allows us to be successful the harder we work and even more so in sports.

  4. Be known as a program that gives great effort.

    • Effort is something that takes zero talent

    • Every athlete will be expected to give their best effort in everything they do.

  5. Have character at all times

    • Being unselfish and keeping your composure throughout

    • Competing with character the score will take care of itself.
